Day 3: About Markets and Prix winners

Informative, entertaining, spectacular. The third day of the 2015 Ars Electronica Festival is already over. We have recorded a few moments of this day.

The dense and multifaceted program of the Ars Electronica Festival started its third round on Saturday. Even more visitors than on weekdays went to the central and temporary location of the media art festivals, the PostCity because next year the festival will be again staged at a different location in Linz. So it’s a unique opportunity to visit the festival in this form – until Monday, September 7, 2015. We looked around in the festival locations this Saturday, to capture some impressions for you.

The third day of the 2015 Ars Electronica Festival starts already at 9 AM at the Ars Electronica Center. In addition to new exhibitions such as “Spaceship Earthand Elements of Art and Science and the new Deep Space 8Khere also lectures take place, such as Smart Creativity, Smart Democracy“, a platform for exchange by Euro Council, Ars Electronica and the Austrian Federal Chancellery.

The International Teletext Art Festival shows that it’s also nice to look at a few less pixels in Deep Space 8K. Here, the artists have created pictures with teletext codes and its reduced possibilities of the teletext system.

Meanwhile, the second round of the six Prix forums starts at the OK im OÖ Kulturquartier at 10 AM. Here the pricewinners of the 2015 Prix Ars Electronica have their say. A very special opportunity to meet the people behind the artworks.

… while in the background the Diaspora Maschine takes a one day break that will resound for the last time at the Big Concert Night on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015.

We again make a visual jump towards the main square, specifically to the Linz Art University and the campus exhibition of Université Paris 8.

and we continue to walk back to the Ars Electronica Center. “Art and Scienceis a focus of this year’s Ars Electronica Festival, plus there at the museum of the future there is also a new exhibition, called “Elements of Art and Science”.

The exhibition “Habitat 21″ in the PostCity takes up thoughts about the increasing urbanization in the 21st century – and matches this year’s festival theme.

The photo exhibition “Hallstatt Revisitedby Norbert Artner at the PostCity shows impressions from the Chinese province of Guangdong, where a walk-in copy of the Austrian village Hallstatt was built from scratch.

In Deep Space 8K of the Ars Electronica Center there can be watched many other places at least virtually. In2White by Filippo Blengini shows the biggest panoramic image of the world that has been built up from 70,000 individual images of the imposing mountain Mont Blanc.

Meanwhile another market opens its doors in the PostCity – the Internet YamiIchi. Here goods and experiences from the online world are being offered.

Under the open sky, the Saturday night program has another highlight to offer. At the top of the OK im OÖ Kulturquartier excellent works of the Ars Electronica Animation Festival can be watched.
