In 2004 Ars Electronica created Ars Electronica Export, a program dedicated to the production of exhibitions, workshops and education programs for and together with partners from all over the world. The partners are institutions involved in art and culture, science, and education as well as private sector companies. Since then, several dozen of such projects have been realized, and each one has been specially configured together with the hosting partner with the aim to involve local as well as international artists. The activities of Ars Electronica Export play an important role in maintaining and extending the range of our vital network of artists and creative collaborators.
The Lab-Exhibition MATERIA PRIMA presents outstanding work at the nexus of art and science but it is also a showcase for the notoriously curious and as such the whole exhibition space serves as an inspiring laboratory environment which in a literal way has a set of visitor labs as its central core. This hybrid form of presentation is a clear commitment to the didactic and inspirational potential of art and science.
Ars Electronica is making its second guest appearance at Science Centre Singapore. The successful debut was a large-scale exhibition in 2007. Now, eight years later, the follow-up entitled “INTERPLAY – Ars Electronica Linz Meets Science Centre Singapore” is more modest in scope, but this compact package delivers awesome content once again.
