Afsnit I: A new innovation camp and festival in copenhagen

We are happy to announce that Afsnit I, an innovation camp and festival in Copenhagen, is a new partner of the Ars Electronica. In detail Christopher Lindinger, director of the Research & Innovation Group and Ars Electronica Futurelabs co – director participates in Afsnit I as jury member, project coach and key note speaker.

SHORTLY ABOUT THE EVENT

Afsnit I – ‘Department I’ in English – is an international innovation camp and competition calling for proposals from social innovators and creative entrepreneurs, designers, students, artists, inventors, and others with an original idea that can make the world a better place.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

You apply – you get chosen – you come to Copenhagen (the festival pays the international transport) – you develop and present your idea – the jury awards the best idea with € 13.500 for its realization.

On October 23rd 10 -15 selected projects move into the location, a now closed Hospital. Each project gets an empty room at its disposal. Each group creates a physical presentation of the idea/project. It can be anything related to the idea: models built in wood, an installation, a video projection or more event-oriented presentations such as a panel debate or a game.

On October 26th and 27th projects are presented to a jury and an audience as part of the public festival. On the last day the jury rewards the best idea.

Deadline for your application is October 1st 2012. Find the application form and more information on the website: http://www.afsniti.dk/indexE.php
