Here are some first impressions of a [the next idea] workshop at this year Ars Electronica Festival, where the people from Solarafrica are demonstraiting how everyone can build a solarlamp on his/her own. Usually they are doing this workshops in Kenya where this kind of lamps are often the only source of light for the local people.

A cooperation project between Kenia and Swizzlernad provides the people of Nairobis slum Kibera with electric light, education and is offering a business model at the same time. Elizabeth Otieno, one of the central persons behind this idea, is going to talk at this years ars electronica festival about her experience with the project.
