Please be certain that you have read the General Entry Regulations.

To participate in the Prix Ars Electronica, you must register online. All the information and the documents (work, project description, images pertaining to the work, etc.) necessary to formally enter this competition can be entered and uploaded online. It is not mandatory to send materials via post.
Please use PDF format for all documents.

Once you have entered all the mandatory information, finalize your project(s). A submission is complete and formally entered in the competition only if it has been finalized.

If you send in additional material pertaining to your submission via post, please mail it by the submission deadline (date of postmark is determinative) to:

If your entry is awarded a prize or receives a Honorary Mention, your material will be used for the catalog, DVD (CD) and the Prix Ars Electronica website (see General Entry Regulations), so we ask you to prepare your picture and text material carefully. The catalog, DVD and CD will be released in conjunction with the Festival Ars Electronica.

COMPUTER ANIMATION / FILM / VFX

  • jury version via upload or on DVD, including specification of the necessary codecs, plug-ins and formats (such as PAL, NTSC)
  • detailed description of the work (PDF)
  • a portrait photo of the author and graphics files describing the project in the following formats: TIFF, EPS, BMP, JPG, GIF (JPG and EPS only at maximum quality)
  • biography of the author(s)
  • optional: additional material (stills/synopsis/ …)

INTERACTIVE ART

  • video documentation (approx. 3 min.) via upload or on DVD (PAL/NTSC)
  • detailed description of the artistic concept and technical realization (PDF)
  • a portrait photo of the author and graphics files describing the project in the following formats: TIFF, EPS, BMP, JPG, GIF (JPG and EPS only at maximum quality)
  • biography of the author(s)
  • optional: additional material (images/documents (PDF)/drawings)

DIGITAL MUSICS & SOUND ART

  • jury version via upload or on Audio-CD, DVD Audio or DVD Video including specification of the necessary codecs, plug-ins and formats (such as PAL, NTSC)
  • 2-3 minute excerpt in one of the following formats: wav,mp3,aif,mov,ogg …
  • detailed description of the work (concept and content)
  • a portrait photo of the author and graphics files describing the project in the following formats: TIFF, EPS, BMP, JPG, GIF(JPG and EPS only at maximum quality)
  • biography of the author(s)
  • optional: additional material (images/drawings/score (PDF)/documents (PDF)/ …)

HYBRID ART

  • video documentation (approx. 3 min.) via upload or on DVD (PAL/NTSC)
  • detailed description of the artistic concept and technical realization (PDF)
  • a portrait photo of the author and graphics files describing the project in the following formats: TIFF, EPS, BMP, JPG, GIF (JPG and EPS only at maximum quality)
  • biography of the author(s)

DIGITAL COMMUNITIES

  • detailed description of the work (concept and content) (PDF)
  • supporting information and resources (in the case of texts, the complete, unabridged version of the text; scientific, scholarly or theoretical texts about the project; media coverage and reviews) as well as illustrations
  • a portrait photo of the author and graphics files describing the project in the following formats: TIFF, EPS, BMP, JPG, GIF (JPG and EPS only at maximum quality)
  • biography of the person submitting the entry
  • screenshot of the website you are submitting
  • optional: additional material (images/documents (PDF)/…)
