So, here’s what the hands-on sound studio looks like. Seven workstations are available. Thanks to audio routing, all signals collected at the digital mixing console (from microphones, synthesizers, instruments, what have you…) can be sent to all workstations and processed there. The nice folks at Ableton have provided us with Live Suite, a standard in the world of digital audio. Many thanks!

Here’s the workplace of a workshop leader. In the SoundLab, you can work on your own if you prefer, but expert guidance is available. The Infotrainers have themselves been trained and are on the spot to provide advice and assistance. Then again, the space is ideal as a setting for workshops, which Marco Palewicz (AT) will be hosting over the coming weeks and months. The details are online at ars.electronica.art/klangwolke.

Here’s another shot of three of the six workstations that are available during regular business hours and workshop sessions. The large monitor displays the image from the main processor, which is particularly valuable when it comes to teaching various techniques.

On this wall, you can listen to soundcloudminiatures that have already been submitted. Everybody is cordially invited to take part in the voestalpine Klangwolke https://ars.electronica.art/klangwolke/en/, so drawing inspiration as a prelude to your own creative efforts is expressly encouraged!
