The Opening Event on Thursday, September 4th is the highlight of the Festival’s first evening. The gigantic windows of neo-Gothic Mariendom will be transformed into a stage and projection surface for the interactive interplay of light and communication. Artfully deployed technology provides the audience with intuitive audiovisual instruments with which to play the cathedral’s façade.

The crème de la crème of the digital arts are the stars of the show at the Big Ars Electronica Gala 2014. The Golden Nica statuettes will be bestowed on the Prix Ars Electronica prizewinners on Friday, September 5th at the Brucknerhaus.
