Dance! u19 is fully awake now

raetselblog_squared,

So let’s get things moving with a tricky question: What the hell are these people doing here and why?

Think you can do the WICKED? Yeah? Then do it—‘cause that’s what this video was made for! Matthias Bergsmann took the many, many soundcloudminiatures and cooked them up into a new piece of music. And Magdalena Neuburger came up with the choreography.

It’d be a smart move on your part to practice this dance for the festival. When the music starts, it’s time to get going—no matter when, where, or what you’ve got on! If you want to practice with a group, then come to the Ars Electronica Center’s weekly sessions beginning Tuesday, August 14!

So, what’s up besides the fact that a bunch of flipped-out Mühlviertlers launched this video and the music to go with it?

Simon and Kathrin have been busy distributing all the computers that the festival has available, and now they’re checking whether the containers that’ll serve as giant building blocks for the u19 – CREATE YOUR WORLD Festival Village actually contain enough space for them. Pia’s Festival pass printer is clattering away. The list of overnight stays “is never gonna be done,” sighs Julia, who’s still persevering as Susi breaks it to her that there’s been yet another change. Sarah and Mary have received Hugvies from Emiko and they’re snuggling with them while the Festival and the Sunday program keep on falling into place, piece by piece. Laura has taped an arrow onto her abs, so now, in addition to her role as source of comprehensive Festival knowledge, she can play signpost too. Juliane is scurrying about in the ABC Workshop, where, as of today, August 13, the receivers for the 1,200+ illuminated letters that have already been constructed in the AEC can be picked up. And what’s this we hear?

Georg is now officially His Honor the Mayor of the u19 Festival Village. Construction commences August 20.

Now that we’ve figured out where the LED box was hiding, the next big issue rears its head. In the Ars Electronica Center and especially at the Klangwolke, we need dancers. People to dance with letters during the Klangwolke, people to dance on ships, people to dance on the Main Square, and above all: People who simply want to do the WICKED! Last week we noticed that four staffers were seeking dance enthusiasts. Now they’ve formed a group and are continuing their recruiting drive! The word is out: Let us hear from YOU! And do your part to solve the various organizational puzzles surrounding the Festival production.
